The bedroom is the most common romantic getaway for people within their homes. A romantic bedroom definitely takes time and consideration to create, and it needs to entice all five senses. Lighting some candles and having silk sheets isn’t what it’s all about. If you want a truly romantic bedroom, it must be well planned out and must appeal to both sexes.
Decorating the Bed in a Romantic Bedroom
You want your bed to be as inviting as possible with a romantic bedroom. A comfortable mattress, plush pillows and luxurious sheets and blankets are all things to include. You color scheme should consist of calming colors like light blue, pink and ivory or jewel toned colors like purple or emerald green. If you want a romantic bed then you should really stay away from frilly lace and uncomfortable accents that do nothing to set the mood.
Lighting for a Romantic Bedroom
Harsh bright lights should be avoided by anyone going for a romantic feel. Go with slights that are softer and filtered instead. You can use light bulbs that have a lower wattage, or a lamp instead of an overhead light fixture for the room’s light. You have a variety of candles to choose from, from floating candles that can be placed in a glass vase to large pillar candles that sit on decorative plates of boxes. A romantic bedroom does really well with accessories such as canopy drapes, flowers, decorative mirrors and framed artwork. The television is one accessory that truly has no place in a romantic bedroom, no distractions are necessary.
