If you are familiar with a base c180 1994 mod oyu will know what I mean, under the cd/tape player there are 6 tape holding cartridges, 3 by 3 with a little button you can push on each of them, when you push the button the tape holder pops out and you can take out/insert the cassette tape for storage.
I want to do something with this space as i have a cd player and never use tapes.
I was thinking maybe cut out and fit a GPS into it or something like that.
Any suggestions to a modification to do something with that space?

As a factory alternative you could have a CD holder in there, or a small stowage compartment (tray). I'd suggest the last one as basis for future modifications - just get rid of tape holder and put the tray in place. Then see what you can fit there.
