A Marble Chess Game Is A Marvelous Option

If you were to go back in time to Europe of five hundred years ago you would find people playing chess. Similar games to what we know as chess were being played over fifteen hundred years ago. Many people still play chess today. A lot of people serious about chess choose to purchase a marble chess set for playing this popular game. The basics of a chess set are the same; a board and sixteen playing pieces.

If you know the rules of chess you can make a set up of just about anything. You may choose to set up a square checkered board in a grid of eight-by-eight. You then have your pieces. The pieces are a king, queen, rooks, knights, bishops and pawns. However, there are so many ranges of chess sets that there is no reason to make your own.

The construction of chess sets can vary widely. You can even find them made of cheaper items like plastic and cardboard. If you are buying a set for a child you might want to go with these less expensive materials. You might think you want to start with plastic for yourself but you probably will want a nicer set in short period of time.

Once you have learned chess you will want a set that reflects the admiration you have for the game. You might choose to move up to wood. There are a variety of wood sets. There are almost as many kinds of wood sets as there are kinds of wood. Doubtless you will want a step up from this material in short order.

The next step up from wood is marble. It is a great choice even as a first set. Marble is classy and long lasting material. The cost of the pieces and set will range depending on the quality of the marble, craftsmanship, and size of the set. You can also find the board in marble or you can get a wood board.

There is nothing like the elegance of a marble chess piece. They have a solid feel and they will last forever. They have such an artistic look that many people leave them out on a table as a decoration.

You can also find a marble chess set in many forms. Of course they are offered in the medieval forms of royalty. They can also be made in other forms such as animals and fantasy story figures. All of these pieces can be hand painted and carved in a very detailed manner.

Yahoo! Chess requires Flash Player 7 or later
and JavaScript enabled in your browser.
The two answers are these two links respectively:

Yahoo! Help Articles
(1) How do I download the latest version of Flash?

If that is OK, but problems persist, then clear the cache on your computer.
-----------------------------------------------
• Clear the cache has been known to cure the "old version" problem.
• A word of caution: read to be aware of what you are deleting.

This is how to clear the cache of Internet Explorer:
• From the "Start Menu", Open "Control Panel".
• Open "Internet Options": it will display the "General" tab.
• Under "Browsing History", Click on the "Delete" button.
• Follow directions to "Delete All".

Windows Help advises: Deleting everything can free hard disk space, solve problems with your web browser, and provide some additional privacy, but it might inconvenience you by removing information you might need on the Internet. For example, you will have to retype passwords that were previously stored on your computer.

If that didn't work, then try these:

Recently Yahoo updated their chess software program and you now need the new version. The first thing you will have to do is remove the old software demo. Standard clearing the cache does not remove game demos (deleting browser history old files clearing cookies, etc) They have to be deleted by manually selecting the Yahoo demo program. Instructions for doing this from the Start Menu are at each of the above pair of links.

The final bell rings. Children gather their coats and backpacks and make a
beeline for the door. But it’s not the door to go home they are running for.
It’s the door to the gymnasium. The students throw their coats and backpacks
in a pile by a table and immediately grab a chess set and pair up. It’s time
