I have an old wooden carving of an alligator and frog, there is no signature? Help Identifying it?
I have this old dark wooden carving of a frog sitting on a big leaf and a alligator or crocodile sneaking up on it. There are lots of intricate flowers, I don't know how better to explain it. Maybe I can put pictures up later? Any ideas on were to begin researching it?
Show it to antique dealers.
Try to narrow it down by determining what exactly the article is made with. Try to estimate the date it was made. Try to figure out what country it was made in. In many cases the way an item is made will reveal good clues towards answering those 3 questions.
