Logitech MX 518 High Performance Optical Gaming Mouse (Metal)
Individuals individuals who've read my G5 review may be surprised which i bought an MX518 rather than a G5. I am pretty high in G5, and rather sad about breaking it, however i was interested in the MX518, if for not one other reason than the conventional through which the G5 is really frequently in comparison.
I have used the brand new mouse for around per week and it is tough to distinguish performance-smart from the G5. But you will find some variations worth mentioning.
Things I Miss Concerning the G5 -
Separate X and Y axis sensitivity configurations - this feature was just obtainable in SetPoint's Game Mode but did produce some versatility in opening the horizontal sensitivity for close-in sweeping without compromising vertical precision.
Adjustable weights - My G5 as referred to during my review weighs in at 140g the MX518 weighs in at 105g. The load module around the G5 helps make the entire difference. I have observed the main difference, but have modified with no troublel ..
Sensitivity Indicator - From time to time I'd forget a button sensitivity and needed to consider the G5's Brought indicator, which in some instances was simpler than moving a button.
Things I Like Better Concerning the MX518 -
Two thumb buttons which I have looking for raising and lowering sensitivity a la user.xml personalization much like things i did on my small G5. Their whereabouts continues to be a little high.
BTW, the SetPoint software will identify the MX518 and append user.xml with default configurations for that MX518. This really is awesome because it enables someone to switch back (or use within parallel) to some G5 without losing any personalization.
Toss-Ups -
The shape and size from the MX518 and G5 are the same, however my G5 were built with a slightly harder texture both on its' topside and its' gripping surfaces. The MX518 is much more slippery both in areas, so individuals who often depend on palm friction for grip might should you prefer a G5. I am inclined to use my thumb and pinky to keep a button, so it is not as noticeable.
Conclusion -
The G5 was the very best mouse I ever possessed, however the MX518 is definitely an acceptable and much more cost-effective alternative.
Public Service Announcement - How you can "Deep Hack" your MX518 --
The SetPoint utility keeps its' configuration info inside a file known as user.xml (I your investment path, but it is saved within the Documents and Configurations directory on XP). Editing the file is simple enough - since it is XML, any text editor is going to do. It's WHEN one edits that's important. SetPoint pads against accidental changes or deletions by repairing the consumer.xml file if this exits. So you need to do the next:
1) Close SetPoint, either in the system tray or starting the job manager.
2) Copy user.xml to user.xml.orig or whatever suffix you utilize in order to save an archival copy.
3) Edit user.xml, by copying and pasting the tags for that normal "increase sensitivity" button to button 4. For that MX518, I additionally copy the standard "decrease sensitivity" button tags to button 5. If much like me you need to apply it games that you have setup for SetPoint's "game mode", you'll also need to alter the section in user.xml coping with game mode. Otherwise, the modification will fail the moment you take the overall game.
4) Remove last_user.xml.
5) Open SetPoint. During my situation, I drenched from XP then drenched in to reload SetPoint.
The finish outcome is that outdoors of game mode, both standard increase / decrease sensitivity buttons and also the thumb buttons can alter a button sensitivity. In game mode, just the thumb buttons can alter a button sensitivity. The reason being game mode includes a different XML syntax than default mode. Certainly this method may be used to randomly reprogram all the buttons. Make certain you backup user.xml before charging in!
What is the appx value of Winchester Nickel 16 ga, Model 12, solid rib, ser # 102726 all orig nothing broke?
This is not not nickle plated. It is made of Nickle steel so is silver in appearance. Thanks for the responces.
I have the exact same shotgun that I am willing to sell for $700. I have been offered $600 for the gun, but I am not willing to budge.
Here's the deal, Winchest made a lot of 12 gauge model 12 shotguns, and fewer 16 gauge guns. Not everyone likes the 16 gauge, but some folks love them.
The sold rib barrel that you mention was a SPECIAL ORDER feature on the model 12 shotguns. You can go to any decent gun show and find a lot of Win Mod 12 shotguns on the tables, but good luck finding any with the soild rib.
